Annmarie Chesebro, Arbor Teacher Residency Director, Arbor Center for Teaching
Classroom teacher and adjunct professor in Pacific University’s MAT program, Annmarie Chesebro brings a uniquely balanced approach to her work with Teacher Residents. With particular expertise in math, assessment, and preparing Teacher Residents for their first teaching jobs, Annmarie conducts weekly graduate seminars, coaches Teacher Residents in their classrooms, and serves as liaison to other teacher training programs. She has taught within MAT programs at Lewis and Clark College, Western Oregon, and Marylhurst University, and recently served two terms on the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
Kit Abel Hawkins, Director Emeritus, Arbor School of Arts & Sciences
Arbor’s Founder and Director Emeritus, Kit Abel Hawkins was associated for 18 years with Catlin Gabel School prior to the founding of Arbor School in 1989. While she specializes in work with 8-12 year olds, she taught at several levels in the elementary years and also spent five years as a children’s librarian. In addition to teaching, Kit has served as the president of two non-profit organizations and as a trustee for Neskowin Valley School and Catlin Gabel School.
