SEPTEMBER—December

  • Full time co-teaching experience in one of Arbor’s K-8th grade classrooms.

  • Daily support and instructional coaching from experienced mentors.

  • Instructional Rounds within other grade levels and academic disciplines at Arbor.

  • University coursework onsite at Arbor, Mondays and Thursdays 3-5pm:

    • EDUC 667: Learning & Teaching: Literacy Development - 4 Credits

    • EDUC 650: Field Experience - 1 Credit

    • The Social Curriculum - Arbor Seminar not for Pacific credit

Spring 2025

January⁠—june

  • Increased responsibility for teaching in Arbor classrooms with particular focus on developing units of study in math, science, and literacy.

  • Instructional Rounds extend to other school settings.

  • University coursework onsite at Arbor, Mondays and Thursdays 3-5pm and online with Pacific University:

    • EDUC 669: Learning & Teaching: Math/Science/Health - 4 Credits

    • EDUC 680: Preparing the edTPA - 1 Credit

    • EDUC 650: Field Experience - 1 Credit

  • Completion of the Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) in Arbor classrooms.

  • Second teaching placement in a local public school one day per week.

  • University coursework onsite at Arbor, Mondays and Thursdays 3-5pm and online with the larger Pacific cohort over six Saturday sessions:

    • EDUC 664: Learning & Teaching: Social Studies & General Methods - 3 Credits

    • EDUC 672: Student Teaching: edTPA - 3 Credits

    • EDUC 644: Teaching & Inquiry II: Research & Perspectives Inquiry - 3 Credits

January—june

  • Month-long teaching placement in a local public school.

  • Month-long solo teaching experience and completion of the Teacher Inquiry Project (TIP) within Arbor classrooms.

  • Support with job application and interview process.

  • University coursework onsite at Arbor, Mondays and Thursdays 3-5pm and online with the larger Pacific cohort:

    • EDUC 614: Teaching & Inquiry III: Critical Analysis & Decision Making - 2 Credits

    • EDUC 673: Teaching Seminar - 1 Credit

    • EDUC 672: Student Teaching - Teacher Inquiry Project (TIP) - 3 Credits
